Buddha
was born in Nepal
OM AMI DEWA HRIH
(To overcome all obstacles & hindrances)
We are glad to organize “International Conference on
Lord Buddha” from May 19-21. The first phase of event is going to be held on
19-20 May in Kathmandu with the theme of “Lumbini Nepal: The Birthplace of Lord
Buddha & the fountain of Buddhism”. The second phase celebrating on 21 May 2016
celebrating 2560th Buddha Jayanti & ‘Lumbini Day’ with national
& international Buddhists, dignitaries, scholars & aspirants in
Limbini.
Today, there is still a vague among international
Buddhists regarding to birth place of Gautam Buddha. This event which is going
to be held in Nepal obviously, concern with to further glorify the birth place of
Lord Buddha, Lumbini globally. Undoubtly, the events will publicize about
ultimate source of Buddhism & its born factors relating to the remaining in
the core of invaluable heritages in Lumbini, Nepal.
It has been almost more than fifteen years that
UNECO inscribed Lumbini, as the birth place of the Lord Buddha. A decade has
been passed with making many plans & policies for the development of this
holy heritage. But still, we are covering an incipient role in its development
& hanging around only for amending the obscurity of Buddha birth place. The
rumor & pitfall is a shame outcome of political influence between Nepal
& India rather relating to social verdicts. Still, in many countries, there
are several documents mentioning about ‘Buddh was born in India’. Officially,
this is the first and utmost work to be stepped by government of Nepal for correcting
those falsely document with the sentence ‘Buddha was born in Nepal’.
Lumbini site is managed by Lumbini Development trust
& the entire property is guardian by Governmnet of Nepal. There are several
long-term challenges for the protection and management of the world cultural
heritages, Lumbini. The immediate survilliance on the Impacts of visitors,
natural activities and industrial development in Lumbini is a challenging task.
Besides this, the open-border area between Nepal and India has another risk in
its protection & conservation.
Religious & faith-based tourism is a big
business. Data showed that about 25% of US travelling population is interested
in faith-based tourism. Nepal, being a center of Buddhism can earn a lot from
this fact by developing proper strategy to welcome religious tourists. Based on
religious tourism, we can extend stay of those pilgrims by exploring them the
entire natural beauty of our country.
Ultimately, it’s our responsibilities to masks all
the rumors regarding to birth place of Buddha.
We can develop the important of Lumbini for Buddhists in a similar way
as Mecca-Medina existing for Muslims, Jerusalem for Christian and Haridwar
& Pashupatinath for Hindu. Conducting international conference on Buddhism annually
& establishing research based university in the vicinity of Lumbini carries
a great probability to attract Buddhism scholars. Finally, long-term stability
& sustainable visions can lead our country as a nation of pilgrims, as a
nation of Buddhism and as a nation of peace.
